Online Changes Coming

We are doing a lot of work behind the scenes to improve the availability of library services for everyone at SEMO.

First we will be making significant changes to our website over the coming months in order to make it faster, more relevant, and significantly more ADA compliant.

We are also implementing a modern library management platform called Ex Libris Alma, and new discovery (catalog) services, also from Ex Libris, called Primo. During this process, it is necessary for us to suspend certain services while we reconfigure them and transition their management and data.

Important dates

(Subject to change.)

• March 8. 2026: MOBIUS transactions suspended.
• June 18, 2026: Lending and ILL transactions suspended.
• June 24, 2026: New systems (Alma and Primo) go live!
• June 24 - July 8, 2026: Live testing and configuration updates. *
• July 9 - August 24, 2026: Ongoing testing and updates.

*Lending and catalog will be available again, but we expect some (possibly significant) issues during this period. You will see some big changes to the way our catalog looks and acts, as well as email and text notification formatting. Some information may be inaccurate or unavailable early on.

We expect ILL to be available again mid-July. We don't have a specific date yet.

Because MOBIUS is currently unsupported by Alma, we will be working with them after June 24th to get it back online again. We hope to have it back by the end of August, but it will likely take longer.
